Dr. Bruno Ameduri is a Senior Researcher (DR CNRS) at Institute Charles Gerhard. After an MSc degree at Laval University, Quebec, Canada (1984-1986), he carried out an internship at IBM, San Jose, California, and came back to France to start his PhD (1988); then, he joined CNRS the same year. His main interests focus on the synthesis and characterization of fluorinated monomers (including cure site monomers, telechelics, and polyfunctional ones), telomers, and copolymers for various applications such as F-elastomers, F-coatings, and F-polymers related to energy (fuel cell membranes, polymer gel electrolytes for Li-ion batteries, piezo-, ferro-, or electroactive films, and nanocomposites). These new FPs have led various applications via industrial collaborations with Arkema, DuPont, Great Lakes/Chemtura, Honeywell, Pall, and many academic labs all over the world. He is a co-author of seven books, >50 reviews or book chapters, >420 peer-reviewed publications, and a co-inventor of more than 80 patents. He is also a member of the French and American Chemical Societies and member of the Editorial Boards of the Journal Fluorine Chemistry, European Polymer Journal, and Polymer Bulletin. In 2012, he received an award for outstanding contributions and innovation in fluoropolymer science. Beside science, Bruno enjoys cycling and volunteer activities, including dressing as a clown to visit sick children in hospitals in Montpellier and in Japan.
