We derive a mathematical model that describes the competition of two populations in a chemostat in the presence of a virus. We suppose that only one population is affected by the virus. We also suppose that the substrate is continuously added to the bioreactor. We obtain a model taking the form of an “SI” epidemic model using general increasing growth rates of bacteria on the substrate and a general increasing incidence rate for the viral infection. The stability of the steady states was carried out. The system can have multiple steady states with which we can determine the necessary and sufficient conditions for both existence and local stability. We exclude the possibility of periodic orbits and we prove the uniform persistence of both species. Finally, we give some numerical simulations that validate the obtained results.
We study the split fixed point problem with multiple output sets in nonlinear spaces, particularly in CAT(0) spaces. We modify the existing self-adaptive algorithm for solving the split common fixed point problem with multiple output sets in the settings of generalized structures. We also present the consequences of our main theorem in terms of the split feasibility problem and the split common fixed point problem.
The major objectives of this research article are to introduce the notion of ($ \alpha, \psi $)-contraction in the context of $ \mathfrak{F} $-bipolar metric space and establish fixed point theorems. In this way, coupled fixed point results are obtained by applying the leading theorems. Some non-trivial examples are also furnished to show the validity of established results. As applications of the main result, we investigate the solution of an integral equation and a homotopy problem.
This paper introduces the concept of proximal -contractions in -metric spaces. We establish novel results concerning the existence and uniqueness of best proximity points for such mappings. The validity of our findings is corroborated through a non-trivial example. Furthermore, we demonstrate the applicability of these results by proving the existence of solutions for Volterra integral equations related to population growth models. This approach not only extends best proximity theory, but also paves the way for further research in applied mathematics and beyond.
The paper explores the uniform stability and equilibrium characteristics of a class of neural networks of fractional order with time delay. The two-point self-mapped contraction theorem is used in order to establish sufficient conditions for the uniform stability of the system. Further, the existence, uniqueness, and uniform stability of the equilibrium point are established. A set of numerical examples is presented to proclaim the validity and usefulness of the proposed results.
The primary objective of this research article is to investigate the concept of extended -metric spaces and to establish a series of fixed point theorems for generalized contractions within this framework. We further introduce and analyze the notion of interpolative Kannan-type cyclic contractions in extended -metric spaces, deriving several novel fixed point results associated with these mappings. In addition, we obtain common fixed point theorems for rational contractions, thereby extending and unifying a variety of existing results available in the literature. To highlight the novelty and effectiveness of the proposed results, several illustrative examples are provided. Moreover, the theoretical findings are successfully applied to the solution of Atangana–Baleanu fractional integral equations as well as Volterra integral equation of Hammerstein type, demonstrating their practical significance and wide-ranging applicability.
