Born in 1953, Aeronautical Engineer in 1975, Ph.D. in 1980. Associate Professor in 1980 at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Visiting Professor at Stanford University in 1986. Full Professor in 1993 at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in Thermal Machines and Engines. His research interests range from laser experimental techniques for industrial flows, ultra-low NOx combustion, internal combustion engines, absorption heat pumps, and solar thermal energy. He has been head of the Department and vice-chancellor for Engineering studies for which he was awarded the highest educational honor in Spain. Member of the European Academy of Sciences, he has published 90 articles of which 50 are JCR, 3 books, and participated in 10 European Commission competitive research projects, as well as many national ones and with private corporations. H25 and more than 1000 citations. Author of 3 scientific books.
