Prof. Patrícia Carvalho Baptista received a chemistry degree in 2006 and a PhD degree in sustainable energy systems through the MIT Portugal Program in 2011 from Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, Portugal. She is currently an assistant professor at Instituto Superior Técnico and a senior researcher at the IN+ Center for Innovation, Technology and Policy Research, IST. Her main research topics have been the transition to low-carbon systems, with a special focus on the energy and environmental impacts of transport, combining real-world monitoring and numerical tools. In more detailed terms, these activities have focused on vehicle performance optimization and design, life-cycle assessments of energy carriers, technologies, and mobility services, user behavior characterization, and the spatial analysis of urban infrastructure.
