Dr. Teresinha Marisa Bertol holds a degree in Animal Science from the Federal University of Santa Maria (1983), a master’s degree in Animal Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1988), and a PhD in Animal Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (2003). She is currently a researcher at the National Center for Swine and Poultry Research. She has experience in animal science, with an emphasis on monogastric nutrition and meat quality. She works in research on pigs, mainly in the following areas: pig nutrition and feeding, feed evaluation, pre-slaughter management, and meat quality.
