Information

Pascale Marchot completed her Ph.D. in Neurosciences (1986) and her "accreditation to direct research" (1999) at the Aix-Marseille Univ. (AMU, France). She is a research director at the French national body, CNRS, and a team leader at the “Architecture & Fonction des Macromolecules Biologiques” (AFMB) lab. in Marseille. She was the French coordinator of the CNRS/AMU/UCSD International Associated Lab. “Structure-Guided Investigations into Disease States & Therapeutics Strategies” (SGIDSTS, 2013-2016). She has been a member of the French Society of Toxinology (SFET) since 1999 and an active component of its Board of Directors and Editorial Committee since 2007. Her research projects address the structure-function relationships of animal/marine toxins, natural/engineered antibodies, eukaryotic enzymes, receptors/channels and cell-adhesion molecules of neurobiological interest since they are involved in the genesis, physiopathology and aging of central/peripheral synaptic structures. To this end, she uses complementary approaches of biochemistry, pharmacology, toxinology, enzymology, experimental structural biology and theoretical 3D modeling. She has coordinated or contributed to various research funding programs, organized or co-organized several meetings, and supervised many postdocs, students and trainees on these topics at the national and international levels. She has co-authored more than 100 articles, reviews, book chapters, proceedings, books, e-books and special issues.
