Prof. Mahmoud DarAssi earned his B.Sc. in Mathematics from Hashemite University in 2000, graduating as the top student in his class. In 2002, he completed his M.Sc. in Mathematics at the University of Jordan. From 2002 to 2008, he was a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at Hashemite University. Prof. DarAssi furthered his education in the United States, earning an M.A. in Mathematics from the University of Alabama in 2011 and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics in 2014. During his doctoral studies (2009–2014), he worked as a teaching assistant in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Alabama. In September 2014, Prof. DarAssi began his tenure as an Assistant Professor. Five years later, in September 2019, he was promoted to Associate Professor in the Department of Basic Sciences at Princess Sumaya University for Technology. Since September 2021, he has been the Head of the Basic Sciences Department. Most recently, in October 2024, Prof. DarAssi was promoted to Full Professor. Prof. DarAssi’s research interests include fluid hydrodynamics, heat transfer, stability analysis, perturbation methods, numerical solutions for ODEs and PDEs, biomathematics, and disease and computer virus spread modeling. He has published extensively in these fields, contributing significant insights to the scientific community.
