Prof. Antonio Cascio is a full professor of infectious and tropical diseases, as well as the Director of the School for Specialization in Infectious and Tropical Diseases at the University of Palermo. Professor Cascio received his Ph.D. in Infectious Diseases from the University “La Sapienza” in Rome, Italy, in 1998. Since November 2015, Prof. Cascio has been the Chief of the Infectious Diseases Department and the Coordinator of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Team at the AOU Policlinico “P. Giaccone” in Palermo, Italy. Dr. Cascio’s scientific research is documented in more than 300 publications (indexed in Scopus) on topics including pathophysiology, epidemiology, and the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases.
