Greenhouse gas emissions (GE) represent an element that influences the lives of all people on the planet. This action must be controlled and prevented because the negative effects are starting to appear more and more in everyday life, sometimes with devastating consequences from a climate point of view and not only for the inhabitants of certain regions. At the European level, one of the main measures taken was the implementation of the Green Deal as a response to the fight against GE. The purpose of this article is to offer a description of the main elements that are influencing the GE, as well as the role of the Green Deal. It also aims to identify the characteristics of the EU countries from the GE point of view before and after the Green Deal was proposed. In this regard two more cluster analyses are also carried out regarding GE at the European level. One analysis concerns the identification and evolution of the main groups of countries from this point of view for years 2018 and 2020. The second analysis concerns the main fields in the industry for year 2020. The used methodology was DM-CRISP. In the final part of the article the obtained results are analyzed, a discussion is added based on them and also a conclusion section.

Our study intends to find out how integrative digital governance in public administration can support sustainable development. The Covid-19 pandemic’s effects and current technology developments presented the chance. Mainly qualitative analysis, which included case study analysis and a review of the specialized literature, made up the research approach. Using this approach, we want to find potential approaches to include digital transformation into public administration. Our initial assumption was that the digitalization of public administration might make it easier to accomplish goals related to global development. Based on the findings of our study, we can declare that digitisation of public administration has a great potential to boost effectiveness, openness and civic engagement. Technologies would make participation easier and guarantee equal access for all citizens. All the same, our study emphasizes how complicated digitalization is. This covers the possible hazards connected to digital technology included into systems of public administration. We underline as recommendations the need of implementing a cooperation strategy that includes several activity sectors and degrees of digital governance. Our study has certain limitations mostly because we chose a limited number of case studies. This reality, we think, may affect the general applicability of the obtained results. We advise considering these restrictions in case our study is replicated. Furthermore, we think that the rate at which technology is developing now calls for a constant assessment of the outcomes that are attained by incorporating post-pandemic technological advancements into digital governance. Our study adds value by advancing our understanding of sustainable development in the digital era and by drawing attention to the challenges public administration has in embracing and leveraging digital developments.

According to the International Maritime Organization, the shipping industry contributes to 3.3% of global CO2 emissions. Reducing carbon emissions by 50% for all ships by 2050 is the main concern of all stakeholders. In the last 20 years, the share of renewable energy sources in electricity production in the European Union has doubled, from around 15% to almost 35%. The main driver of this development has been the increase in the share of wind energy and solar photovoltaic energy. The authors of this paper aim to analyze the favorable influencing factors and the inhibiting factors affecting the energy transition process applied to nautical tourism, from polluting energy to renewable solar energy. The research approach consists of using the framework provided by the energy transition process from the perspective of the socio-technical and economic approach, by applying a qualitative research method with a deductive approach. The tool used to achieve the objective is a semi-structured interview, which brings up concrete issues that operators in this field are currently facing. The research unitarily, holistically, and specifically approaches the problem of energy transition from polluting sources to renewable ones offered by solar energy, in the case of nautical tourism with direct implications on the specific industry in The Netherlands. The research results are structured in four areas: technological, governance, economic, and user preferences. This research has the potential to provide support for finding optimal solutions to encourage users to accelerate the energy transition process by adopting sustainable solutions for nautical tourism.
