The aim of this article is to represent the characterization of the clinical case of chemotherapy-related atrial fibrillation (AF) development in the young woman, elaborated as a result of multiple neoadjuvant and adjuvant modes of the intake of chemotherapy (both anthracycline based and non-anthracycline ones). In this case, the noted disturbances of heart rhythm should be recognized as a manifestation of cardiotoxicity. The latter implies the degree of detrimental effect of chemotherapeutical medication on the morphophynctional parameters of the cardiovascular system. Anthracycline drugs, being highly effective chemotherapytical agents, provide well-known toxic effects on the heart and vessels. Anthracycline mediated cardiotoxicity is a well- known veracity that dates back to the 60s of the last century, but up to now this medication sustains irreplaceable components of big volume of chemotherapy modes. Moreover, it should be noted that relatively newer drugs also posses certain cardiotoxicogenic potential.

Aim. Determination of the concentration of interleukin-10 (IL-10) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in serum of patients with periodic disease (PD) before and after treatment with colchicin, as well as the identification of correlation between the indicators of these parameters. Materials and methods. We examined 188 patients with PD (89 men, 99 women) aged from 12 to 69 years, as well as 44 patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) as a comparison group and 41 healthy people of the control group. Patients were divided into groups: 1 - PD colchicinotherapy patients with seizures without amyloidosis that do not respond to treatment maximum dose of colchicine 2.0 mg/day; 2nd-PD patients without amyloidosis, not responding to treatment 1.5 mg/day colchicine; 3rd - PD patients that responds to certain doses of colchicine (0.5 to 2.0 mg/day); 4th - PD patients without amyloidosis who did not receive treatment; 5-I of the healthy persons of the control group; 6-I - RA patients. The concentration of IL-10 in blood serum was determined by enzyme immunoassay ELISA, and IL-6 - immunochemiluminescent method. For statistical processing the computer program SPSS is used. The results were considered statistically significant at the level of reliability p

Background: Data published by task groups of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the European Society of Cardiology, and other medical associations and institutions show that chemotherapy-induced cardiomyopathy is still a challenging issue that requires further research. Objective: To compare the cardioprotective potential of trimetazidine and dapagliflozin in a rat model of doxorubicin-cyclophospha-mide cardiomyopathy.Materials and methods: Our randomized in vivo experimental study included 80 Wistar female rats. Doxorubicin and cyclophosphamide were administered at a dose of 15 mg/kg and 150 mg/kg, respectively. Trimetazidine (42 mg/kg) and dapagliflozin (14 mg/kg) were additionally administered to groups 3 and 4, respectively. The total duration of the experiment was 14 days. Results: Doxorubicin+cyclophosphamide mode of chemotherapy induces the development of toxic-ischemic cardiomyopathy. The trimetazidine and dapagliflozin administration was accompanied by stabilization of cardiovascular parameters. Comparison of both drugs’ cardioprotective properties revealed a clear advantage of dapagliflozin over trimetazidine, especially in terms of such an important indicator as N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide. Conclusions: Further research aimed at exploring the cardioprotective potential of dapagliflozin against cardiovascular complications of chemotherapy is justified from a pathogenetic point of view.

Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is an autosomal recessive disease distributed among populations of Mediterranean origin – Armenians, Sephardi Jews, Arabs, Turks. There are numerous clinical observations regarding combination of FMF, as a classical representative of autoinflammatory diseases, with systemic diseases of connective tissue. Seronegative spondyloarthritis (SpA) are the most interesting disorders from this point of view, as far as sacroiliitis – an essential feature of SpA, may also present as a part of joint syndrome in FMF. The main objective of this clinical study was the investigation of the peculiarities of courses of FMF and SpA in case of their coexistence. We studied 126 patients with FMF, SpA and coexistence of both. According to results, patients with the overlap of FMF with SpA had relatively milder course of disease in comparison with each disease separately. Comparative clinical and instrumental characteristics of FMF-associated disorders had shown that in FMF-SpA overlap the symptoms of both diseases are less severe.

COVID-19 has resulted in the death of a number of people around the world. Complications of COVID-19 including coagulopathy may contribute to the development of arterial ischemic events. Mesenterial thrombosis is a late complication of the disease. This clinical case presented the role of hypercoagulation in the clinical picture of the COVID-19 patients, which increased the risk of death.

This review discusses the role of capsule endoscopy in diagnosing suspected small bowel bleeding and compares guidelines of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE), the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology (CAG), and the consensus document of 4 Japanese medical societies. European and North American experts recommend capsule endoscopy as a first-line diagnostic modality for suspected small bowel bleeding without life-threatening signs in adult patients when ileocolonoscopy and esophagogastroduodenoscopy failed to be informative. Japanese experts, on the contrary, prefer cross-sectional imaging “from the chest to the pelvis” and consider capsule endoscopy as an alternative.
