Ruikang Tang studied in the Basic Subject Teaching Strengthening Department of Nanjing University from 1991 to 1995 and received a bachelor's degree; from 1995 to 1998, he was a graduate student at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Nanjing University and received a doctorate; from 1998 to 2001, he engaged in postdoctoral research at the State University of New York at Buffalo. From 2001 to 2005, he served as a research assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry, State University of New York at Buffalo; he has been working in the Department of Chemistry, Zhejiang University since February 2005, and has served as the director of the Laboratory and Equipment Management Office of Zhejiang University since January 2021. He is a member of the Qiushi Institute of Advanced Studies of Zhejiang University, the State Key Laboratory of Silicon Materials, and the Zhejiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Translational Research on Skeletal Muscle Degeneration and Regeneration and Repair, affiliated with Shaw Hospital. He conducted multidisciplinary interdisciplinary research around biomineralization, including material synthesis, biomaterials, bionic repair, and material-regulated biology, etc., involving many fields, such as chemistry, materials, biology, and medicine, and presides over national key research and development plan projects and national natural science key projects of the NSFC, etc.
