Qingxin Mu holds a BE in Pharmaceutical Preparation from Henan University and a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from Shandong University and is currently an Acting Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutics, University of Washington. He embarked on his academic journey in the United States in 2007 as a Ph.D. exchange student in the Department of Chemical Biology and Therapeutics at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where he held the position of International Research Scholar (2007–2009). After Ph.D. graduation, he continued as a postdoc research associate in the same department (2010–2012). From 2012–2017, he furthered his postdoctoral research in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Kansas and then in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Washington. From 2017–2021, he served as a Research Scientist in the UW School of Pharmacy (UWSOP) Department of Pharmaceutics before transferring into a faculty position in September 2021. His research interests include the development of advanced combination therapeutic delivery approaches, translational investigations of drug combination nanoparticles for metastatic cancer treatment, and Nanoformulation-biological system interactions. His long-term research goal is to develop advanced and well-characterized combination therapeutic delivery nanosystems for metastatic cancers and beyond.
