Dr. Niels Schaft is a research group leader at the RNA group in the Department of Dermatology at Universitätsklinikum Erlangen in Erlangen, Germany. He earned his doctorate from ErasmusMC in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and completed his habilitation at Universitätsklinikum Erlangen, Medizinische Fakultät, Erlangen, Germany. His current research interests include optimizing CAR-T cells specific for several cancer antigens, transferring them to alpha/beta and gamma/delta T cells to treat viral infections and cancer, and clinically applying CAR-T cells against solid tumors.
