Gianni Pasolini is Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Information Engineering (DEI) of the University of Bologna, where he has been holding the professorship of several courses in the Telecommunications area since 2003. He is currently holding the "Signal Processing" course at the Engineering School of the same University. His research interests includes wireless communication systems, Internet of things, digital signal processing, intelligent transportation systems and physical layer security. He carries out his research activity also within the context of several National and European projects, in tight cooperation with some of the most important manufacturers and operators in the telecommunications field (Siemens, Telecom Italia, Thales Alenia, MetaSystem). He has been involved in several European initiatives on wireless communications, such as COST actions and Networks of Excellence (Newcom and Newcom#). He has authored around 90 papers in international peer reviewed journal, conferences and book chapters. He is member of IEEE and was TPC member and technical reviewer for numerous IEEE conferences and journal publications. He also participated in the Organizing Committees of IEEE conferences, such as ICUWB 2011 (local arrangements chair), ISWCS 2017 (demo chair, poster chair) and PIMRC 2018 (publication chair). He is Associate Editor for the IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society (IEEE OJ-COM) and vice-chair of the joint ComSoc/VT
