I am pleased to introduce myself as Dr. Sudhir Navathe, PhD (Mycology and Plant pathology). I am presently wheat pathologist at Agharkar Research Institute, Pune India. I am leading plant pathology program at the Institute. I started my career in plant pathology at Dr Balasaheb Sawant konkan krishi Vidyapeeth (An agricultural university) Dapoli, Maharashtra India (http://www.dbskkv.org/). My topic of research was based on their identification and reporting mushroom biodiversity in Konkan part of Western Ghat Region (biodiversity hot spot and world heritage site; http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/1342) of the India and recycling agricultural waste for mushroom cultivation. Furter I developed my research interest in molecular plant pathology during my doctoral studies at Institute of Agriulturl sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi India. My areas of expertise and interest are a) Molecular plat pathology- effector triggered susceptibility and necrotrophoc effector molecules in plant pathogen interaction b) Histochemical and pathological analysis for localization of reactive oxygen species and infection process of plant pathogens. c) The antioxidant enzymes and different reactive oxygen species such as and their role in response to different stress conditions. d) Marker based assessment of the population for the QTL mapping / fine mapping for disease resistance genes in wheat. e) Assessment of the diversity, taxonomy of fungal plant pathogens of cultivated crops
