Dr. M. A. R. Loja completed her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST, UTL) and holds a Habilitation in Mechatronics and Energy Engineering from the University of Évora (UEvora) in Automatic Calculation of Structures. She is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (ISEL, IPL). She was also Associate Professor at the Department of Physics at the University of Évora, as well as an Assistant and Adjunct Professor at the Escola Náutica Infante D. Henrique. She is an integrated researcher at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering (IDMEC, IST) and coordinates the Research Center for Modeling and Optimization of Multifunctional Systems (CIMOSM, ISEL). Her main areas of interest include the scientific areas of computational solid mechanics, advanced composite materials, intelligent structures, optimization, and reverse engineering, in which she is the author/co-author of diverse research papers.
