Zhichao Lou received his Ph.D. degree in materials physics and chemistry from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2015. From 2013 to 2015, he conducted research work on molecular bio-nanoelectronics in Prof. Bingqian Xu’s lab at College of Engineering, University of Georgia, USA. Currently, he is an associate professor at College of Materials Science and Engineering, Nanjing Forestry University, and Secretary General of the National Innovation Alliance of Bamboo Structural Material Industry of State Forestry and Grassland Administration. His research now focuses on the fabrication of bamboo-based functional materials, biomass-derived carbon-based materials, and bamboo processing and construction. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals such as Advanced Materials, Journal of the American Chemistry Society, Nano-micro Letters, Chemical Engineering Journal, Composites Part B/A, Journal of Materials Science and Technology, ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering, and so on, including 10 papers with IF>10, 5 papers cited by ESI, and 1 hot-spot paper. He has an h-index of 28 and has co-authored 70+ publications with more than 2800 citations. More than 20 national patents were applied for, and 8 were authorized. He has served as a reviewer of more than 20 journals in the field of materials and chemistry, with the average annual reviewing of more than 30 manuscripts.
