I am a civil engineer with an M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Universidad de Medellín, where I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Engineering. My ongoing doctoral thesis examines the hazard of river blockage by rainfall-triggered landslide dams and its effect on water availability for water-supply and run-of-river hydropower projects. My research lines include hazard and risk assessment for landslides and debris flows, hydrological and hydraulic modelling, flow runout modelling, and the application of geographic information systems and Python programming to spatial analysis. I also teach as an adjunct lecturer at Universidad de Medellín.
