Question "Kneipp Therapy" (KT) is a form of Complementary and Integrative Medicine (CIM) that includes a combination of hydrotherapy, herbal medicine, mind-body medicine, physical activities and healthy nutrition. Several Nursing homes (NH) in Germany started to integrate KT in the routine care of residents. The aim of this study was to investigate if caring with KT has effects on caregivers. Methods We conducted a prospective, exploratory, two-armed cohort study to compare NH with (KT group) and without KT (but with routine health preventive interventions; control group) over 12 months. Each NH with KT was matched to a control. Outcomes for caregivers included the SF-12 Health Survey, the Work Ability Index (WAI) and the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire (COPSOQ). Results Altogether 111 caregivers were included from 7 NH (KT group, n = 48) respectively 6 NH (control group, n = 63). 95% of caregivers were female (43.4 ± 11.3 years, BMI 26.6 ± 5.3). At baseline, caregivers of the KT group showed better values for the COP-SOQ scales "feedback" (p = 0.043), "job satisfaction" (p < 0.001) and "burnout" (p = 0.008). After 6 months the control group was better in the COPSOQ scales "predictability of work" (p = 0.045) and after 12 months for "sense of community" (p = 0.047) and the physical component scale of the SF-12 (p = 0.039) compared to the KT group. Conclusions The study showed only minor differences between the caregivers of both groups. Caregivers´workability, quality of life and psychosocial burden at work seems to be less influenced by a CIM-oriented working-place approach.

Assisted reproductive technologies (ART) are being increasingly utilized for mitigating fertility problems. Nonpharmacological interventions of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) are widely used as an adjunct to ART, which may improve the rate of pregnancy. Currently, no standard treatment guidelines or consensus are available for non-pharmacological interventions of TCM for patients undergoing ART. The aim of this study was to establish a consensus on the use of non-pharmacological TCM interventions during the ART treatment cycle. This study utilized existing data and developed a consensus among a panel of experts on non-pharmacological interventions of TCM for ART. Through face-to-face or online contact, the listed recommendations were revised one by one, and a consensus was reached when >70 % of the experts agreed with the recommendation. The writing group of the expert panel then created the first draft of the expert consensus based on the discussion in the first round. The second round was held to reach a consensus on content improvements based on the opinions of the experts in the previous round. After the literature search, a total of 873 related articles were retrieved, and 59 studies were ultimately included according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. After two rounds of the survey, a total of 24 experts from 18 Chinese provinces across China and five international experts from the United Kingdom, Korea, and Serbia provided vital insight and support for the formulation of this consensus. The consensus outlines eight non-pharmacological interventions for seven different stages of the ART cycle and three major complications during ART, involving 23 items of clinical practice recommendations. Expert consensus provides a foundation for integrating non-pharmacological TCM interventions into clinical practice during ART. As more high-quality, large-scale, multicenter clinical trials are conducted, these recommendations may be refined and updated to better inform clinical guidelines and improve patient outcomes in ART.

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) has a double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) genome. Infections, mainly sexually transmitted, usually resolve spontaneously. However, if the infection persists over time, lesions of the skin and mucous membranes tend to appear, notably mucosal lesions in the cervix or the appearance of warts. Some of those slowly progress to cancers such as cervical, oral, anus, esophagus, and larynx carcinoma. Diagnosis of an HPV infection is made by Papanicolaou test (Pap test) or molecular screening such as the HPV DNA Test. Treatment with natural products is based on essential oils. The main point of this work is to identify natural molecules from vegetal derivation capable of inhibiting the proliferation of HPV-16 with the same and/or superior affinity as regular drugs used in pharmacological treatment. Once we have identified the main components in these plants, we have applied molecular docking software 1-Click Docking, for virtual testing of those, on main antigenic determinants of HPV-16 as oncoproteins E6 and E7 as well as major capsid protein L1. The major active component to bind oncoprotein E6, apigenin, has shown an affinity bigger than other molecules. For major capsid protein L1, apigenin has shown one level of affinity similar to conventional drugs. These results have shown how it is possible, with natural products present in our daily lives, to inhibit the proliferation of HPV.

Objective: To evaluate the therapeutic potential of a novel vegetable oil blend containing natural bioactive compounds for the treatment of cervical carcinoma through in silico molecular docking analysis. Methods: Natural compounds were extracted from cold-pressed pumpkin oil (Curcubita maxima), horsetail oil (Equisetum arvense), and etheric clove oil (Syzygium aromaticum). Major phytochemicals quercetin 3-O-glucoside, γ-tocopherol, apigenin 5-O-glucoside, β-caryophyllene, kaempferol 3-O-glycoside, and EGCG were identified and standardized via HPLC. Molecular docking was performed using 1-Click Docking software to assess binding affinities against cervical carcinoma-associated targets (p16INK4a, Ki-67, VEGF, CEA, MMP-9, TP53, and pRb). Docking scores were expressed as Gibbs free energy (ΔG, Kcal/mol). Comparative analyses were conducted versus conventional agents (Paclitaxel, Pembrolizumab, Temsirolimus). AI-assisted optimization using ChatGPT-4o integrated molecular interaction data from over 10,000 peer-reviewed studies. Results: Apigenin 5-O-glucoside showed the strongest interaction with MMP-9 (-11.6 Kcal/mol) and CEA (-9.4 Kcal/mol). Quercetin 3-O-glucoside exhibited high affinity for TP53 (-8.1 Kcal/mol), Ki-67 (-9.1 Kcal/mol), and VEGF (-8.7 Kcal/mol). Natural compounds consistently outperformed standard chemotherapeutics, e.g., Paclitaxel with p16INK4a (-5.4 Kcal/mol) vs. apigenin 5-O-glucoside (-8.9 Kcal/mol). These results suggest robust multi-targeted anticancer potential, including inhibition of proliferation, angiogenesis, and metastasis, along with apoptosis induction. Conclusion: Natural compounds derived from a novel vegetable oil blend demonstrate promising molecular interactions with key biomarkers of cervical carcinoma. These findings support their potential role as effective therapeutic agents and warrant further in vitro and in vivo validation.

Background/Objectives: The signs and symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) can be similar to those of various other illnesses and conditions. To facilitate the detection and categorization of PMS symptoms, specific questionnaires have been developed. The aim of this study was to translate and culturally adapt the Premenstrual Symptoms Screening Tool (PSST) for the Serbian-speaking population and assess its validity and reliability. Material and Methods: Our convenience sample included 350 Serbian-speaking female health sciences students from one of the Serbian universities who had PMS symptoms at least once during the past 12 months. They completed a general socio-epidemiologic questionnaire, the PSST, and the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21). The PSST was translated according to the recommended methodology, and its psychometric characteristics (internal consistency, construct, discriminant validity and convergent validity) were tested. Results: There were no major changes in the items during the process of translation or validation. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient for the whole scale was 0.927, whereas if an item was deleted, it was >0.8 for all the items. The McDonald’s omega coefficient was 0.896, indicating good internal consistency. The CI–TC coefficients were greater than 0.40 for all the items, indicating that all items were significant elements of the PSST. Exploratory factor analysis extracted three factors. Confirmatory factor analysis revealed adequate values for all model fit estimators. The PSST significantly correlated with the DASS-21, which confirmed its adequate convergent validity. Conclusions: The Serbian version of the PSST showed good validity and therefore can be used as a screening tool for PMS in Serbian-speaking young women.
