I received a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering at the Sapienza University of Rome. After that, I received my Ph.D. degree cum laude in Morphogenesis and Tissue Engineering (Biophysics curriculum) at the Sapienza University of Rome.
I am currently a Post-Doc Research Fellow at the Industrial Neuroscience laboratory of the Department of Molecular Medicine of Sapienza University.
My main research topics are focused on acquiring and analyzing human biosignals (EEG, ECG, Skin Conductance, Eye-Tracking), with the aim of investigating neurophysiological correlations with cognitive phenomena. The outcome is the development of synthetic neurometrics of specific and relevant mental states, such as mental workload, vigilance, stress, etc. In particular, my research applies to socially relevant domains, such as Human Factor evaluation in operational environments (aviation, automotive, healthcare, etc.) and the development of advanced Human–Machine Interactions based on the use of Brain–Computer Interfaces (BCI). My research also applies to the Neuromarketing field for the evaluation of cognitive, emotional, and motivational processes during the customers’ and general users’ experience.
The results of my research have been disseminated during several International Conferences of Bioengineering and have been published in dozens of papers in peer-reviewed journals, in books, and with one patent (please visit GScholar or Scopus for the full list of publications).
