Gianluca Borghini is a Post Doctoral Fellow at the Dept. of Molecular Medicine of the Sapienza University of Rome and the team Leader of the “Human Factor” Lab of BrainSigns srl. Gianluca received a PhD in Bioengineering at the ALMA MATER STUDIORIUM University of Bologna in 2016. Since 2009, Gianluca has been focusing his work on the objective assessment of mental states by combining behavioral, subjective, and neurophysiological data. In particular, his research activity involves signal processing, machine-learning algorithms, and connectivity-based methods. Most of his studies have been conducted on professional personnel. In 2011, he received the first position in the Flight Safety Course at the Italian Air Force Headquarters in Rome. In addition, in 2011 and 2016, he was rewarded with the prize “I Guidoniani” for the best research in Aerospace Medicine. Finally, in 2020, he was recognized as one of the Top 2% of World Scientists. Gianluca is a co-author of more than 70 scientific contributions in peer-reviewed international journals and of European patents. In addition, he is the Associate Editor of "Frontiers on Neuroergonomics", “Computational Intelligence and Neuroscience”, “International Journal of Bioelectromagnetism”, "Brain Sciences", and “Sensors”.
