Propylene is an important raw material for the production of many valuable compounds, especially polypropylene, the consumption of which continues to grow every year. The reaction of oxidative dehydrogenation of propane, where carbon dioxide is used as a mild oxidant, is a promising method for producing propylene. At the same time, the problem of utilization of greenhouse gas CO2 is partially solved. The synthesis and analysis of the physicochemical properties of mesoporous silicate MCM-41 and supported catalysts CrOx/MCM-41 prepared on its basis were carried out. These catalysts were prepared using incipient wetness impregnation. The support and catalysts were characterized by the methods of low-temperature nitrogen adsorption, TG-DTA, XRD, SEM, TPR-H2, UV/Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, and small-angle X-ray scattering. It is shown that chromium is present in the samples simultaneously in the form of Cr3+ and Cr6+. The catalytic tests were performed in the range of 550–700 °C. The highest selectivity for propylene was observed for the 5%Cr/MCM-41 catalyst and was 76% at a temperature of 650 °C with a propane conversion of 20%. The deposited catalysts Cr/MCM-41 and Cr/SiO2 (Acros) were compared. The propylene selectivity for the MCM-41-supported catalyst was ~1.5 times higher than that for the SiO2-supported catalyst.

To date, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been recognized as promising solid phases in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). This research aimed to elucidate the role of the physico-chemical characteristics of the microporous HKUST-1 metal-organic framework in its operation as a selective adsorbent in HPLC. For this, the HKUST-1 samples were prepared by microwave-assisted synthesis and a solvothermal procedure. According to the chromatographic examinations, the HKUST-1 material synthesized in the microwave fields shows an efficient performance in the selective adsorption of aromatic compounds with different functionalities. This study revealed a significant impact of the preparation procedure on the mechanism of the liquid-phase adsorption on the HKUST adsorbents under conditions of the HPLC. An effect of the elution solvent with the different coordination ability to the Cu2+ sites in the HKUST-1 structure on the adsorption selectivity was observed.

For the first time, the new microwave-assisted method for the synthesis of copper phyllosilicates on a commercial SiO2 carrier was developed. The application of microwave synthesis allowed to decrease the synthesis time from 9 to 6 h compared to the traditional DPU method of preparing chrysocolla. The synthesized catalysts were studied by N2 adsorption, TEM and XRD methods. Catalysts prepared by microwave method are highly effective in the selective hydrogenation of the С≡С bond in 1,4-butynediol to 1,4-butenediol and 2-phenylethinylaniline with a selectivity of 96.5% and 100% at full conversion for 2 and 0.5 h of the reaction, respectively.

A series of mixed copper (II)—zinc oxide catalysts supported on unmodified and ceria-modified silica supports were synthesized using β-cyclodextrin as a template. The novelty of this work lies in the use of cyclosextrins for the template synthesis of catalyst supports. The obtained samples were analyzed by XRD, SEM-EDX, low-temperature nitrogen physisorption, XPS, and EPR. The magnetic properties of the catalysts were also measured. The thermal decomposition of precursors was analyzed by TGA combined with mass-spectrometric analysis of the evolved gases. The effects of the support pore size, the nature of the active phase and its loading, as well as the sequence of component deposition on the catalyst performance in the CO2 conversion to methanol were studied. The catalysts with cerium added at the gelation stage demonstrated the best performance. The selectivity of these samples reaches values of more than 90% over a fairly ide temperature range, with the productivity reaching 480 g/kg cat·h at 300 °C.

A number of dicationic ionic liquids with a disiloxane linker between imidazolium cations and bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide anion were synthesized and characterized. Melting points, viscosity, and volatility in a vacuum were measured; the thermal and hydrolytic stability of ionic liquids were also studied. The dependence of the properties on the structure of substituents in the cation of the ionic liquid was demonstrated.

Novel adsorbents for methane and ethane based on HKUST-1 metal-organic framework were synthesized by microwave (MW) assisted technique using ionic liquids (ILs) as synthesis media. It was found that the MW synthesis time remarkably impacts both the product yield and the physico-chemical characteristics of the produced HKUST-1 material. The crystalline phase purity, crystallite size/dispersion and textural properties of the synthesized HKUST-1 matrices determine their performance in methane and ethane adsorption. Therefore, the HKUST-1 material produced in MW fields for 3 min only shows the highest phase purity and the largest surface area (BET) and porosity, along with a rather small crystallite size (below ~300 nm), demonstrating high methane and ethane adsorption capacity in the pressure range 1–30 atm.
