Purpose: In the era of digitalization, digital technology has transformed businesses and created enormous opportunities for organizations worldwide. Unsurprisingly, research on digital transformation has garnered significant interest among academics in recent decades. However, this study aims to recognize the key and holistic antecedents influencing digital transformation in manufacturing firms. This study also investigates the indirect relationships of antecedents with firm performance.Design/methodology/approach: The hypothesis was investigated using the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The data was collected from 279 employees through a self-administered survey of manufacturing firms.Findings: The results described a significant and positive impact of competitive pressure, leadership role, organization culture, organization mindfulness, government regulation, and IT readiness on digital transformation and firm performance. Furthermore, digital transformation partially mediates the relationship between antecedents and firm performance.Originality/value: The study finds a holistic perspective of the critical antecedents of digital transformation using the mediation role of digital transformation and moderating effects of firm agility. Additionally, all antecedents have a significant association with Firm Performance.

This study attempts to examine the impact of socioeconomic and medical conditions in health and healthcare utilization among older adults in Ghana. Five separate models with varying input variables were estimated for each response variable. Data (Wave 1 data) were drawn from the World Health Organization Global Ageing and Adult Health (SAGE) conducted during 2007–2008 and included a total of 4770 respondents aged 50+ and 803 aged 18–49 in Ghana. Ordered logits was estimated for self-rated health, and binary logits for functional limitation and healthcare utilization. Our results show that the study provides enough grounds for further research on the interplay between socioeconomic and medical conditions on one hand and the health of the aged on the other. Controlling for socioeconomic status substantially contributes significantly to utilization. Also, aged women experience worse health than men, as shown by functioning assessment, self-rated health, chronic conditions and functional limitations. Women have higher rates of healthcare utilization, as shown by significantly higher rates of hospitalization and outpatient encounters. Expansion of the national health insurance scheme to cover the entire older population- for those in both formal and informal employments- is likely to garner increased access and improved health states for the older population.

In an era of rapid technological advancement, digital transformation is crucial for high-tech firms to remain competitive and drive innovation. Digital transformation (DT) necessitates incorporating various technologies to enhance a firm’s capacity to collect, integrate, process, and utilize business data. Therefore, this study aimed to identify the factors influencing DT and the adoption of digital technology in the context of high-tech firm performance (FP) with the moderating role of digital literacy (DL). This study analyses the key factors influencing DT and the adoption of digital technologies, focusing on their impact on FP in high-tech firms, with DL as a moderating factor. The significance of this study lies in its comprehensive analysis of the perceived ease of use, time-saving, security risk, and financial risk, as well as their roles in driving DT. The hypothesis was investigated using the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The data was collected from 521 respondents through a self-administered survey of high-tech firms. The results describe that perceived ease of use, time-saving, security risk, and perceived financial risk have a significant and positive relationship with DT. Moreover, DT partially mediates the relationship between perceived time-saving and FP. The study’s practical implications emphasize the need for high-tech firms to address user perceptions and risks associated with digital technologies to implement DT and achieve improved performance successfully.
