Jian-Yong Wu received his Bachelor of Science from Hebei Institute of Chemical Engineering, his Master of Science from Tianjin University, and his Doctor of Philosophy from Queen's University at Kingston. He is now a Research Professor at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His research is mainly engaged in the discovery of fundamental principles and relationships in food science and bioprocess engineering, the exploration of innovative, effective, and sustainable processing techniques for food and medicinal products, and the development of bioprocess technology for efficient production of valuable metabolites with nutraceutical and therapeutic effects, such as bioactive polysaccharides of edible and medicinal fungi.
