Peter R Ebeling is Head of the Department of Medicine and Head of the School of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences. He was also inaugural Director of the Australian Institute of Musculoskeletal Science (AIMSS). He completed his MBBS at The University of Melbourne, and has been awarded more awards and honors. He is Chair of Healthy Bones Australia; Board Member; International Osteoporosis Foundation; a Past-President, American Society of Bone and Mineral Research, the first to be elected outside of North America; Past-President, Endocrine Society of Australia; Past-President of the Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society (ANZBMS). He was on the NHMRC Academy (2009–2014) and served on the NHMRC Research Committee (2015–2018). His interests include musculoskeletal health and diseases; public health aspects of vitamin D; post-transplantation osteoporosis; and osteoporosis in men.
