Biography

My research journey is deeply rooted in the intersection between neuroscience, rehabilitation, and digital innovation. Over the past years, I have devoted my academic efforts to exploring how novel technologies, combined with neurobiological insights, can transform the assessment, treatment, and overall quality of life of patients affected by neurological and psychiatric conditions. My work spans multiple domains, including traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury (SCI), dementia, stroke, and chronic pain, with a unifying goal: to bridge basic neurobiological mechanisms with clinically meaningful interventions that enhance recovery, resilience, and wellbeing. The central theme guiding my scholarship is the belief that rehabilitation is not only about restoring lost functions but also about reshaping neural and psychological processes through targeted, evidence-based strategies. In this perspective, I see technology as an essential partner: artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), neuromodulation, and telemedicine are not merely tools, but catalysts that amplify human potential, promote neuroplasticity, and extend the reach of clinical care. My research reflects a continuous attempt to connect the dots between cutting-edge neuroscience, innovative rehabilitation techniques, and the lived experiences of patients.
