Hyung-Sik Won is a Professor at the Laboratory of Structural Biology and Protein Engineering, Department of Biotechnology, College of Biomedical and Health Science, Konkuk University, GLOCAL Campus. He obtained a Ph.D. in Physical Pharmacy from the College of Pharmacy, Seoul National University, an M.S. in Physical Pharmacy from the College of Pharmacy, Seoul National University, and a B.S. in Manufacturing Pharmacy from the College of Pharmacy, Seoul National University. He has also worked as a post-doctoral research associate at the Scripps Research Institute, USA. His research interests are (1) structure–function relationships of proteins: transcription factors, molecular chaperones, and disease-related proteins; (2) structure-based drug discovery: protein–protein interaction inhibitors and protein folding regulators; and (3) the development and characterization of biopharmaceutical agents: therapeutic/diagnostic antibody and bioactive peptide engineering.
