Dr. Jiansong Ju received his bachelor's degree in engineering from the Department of Food Science and Engineering, Northwest Institute of Light Industry, in 1995. He earned, from the Bioresource Science, Graduate School of Agriculture, Kochi University, a master's degree in agriculture (2002). He completed his PhD studies in science at Bioresource Utilization, the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, Ehime University (2005). From 2006 to 2009, he served as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Now, he is a professor of College of Life Science, Hebei Normal University. He is engaged in the cloning, expression, characterization of enzymatic properties, structural modeling and three-dimensional structure analysis of microbial functional genes, exploring the catalytic mechanism of enzyme proteins, using directed evolution technology to transform stable and efficient enzyme proteins, and using microbial enzyme proteins to develop and optimize the process of synthesizing small biological molecules. He received the Wang Kuancheng Postdoctoral Research Award from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2006, the Outstanding Postgraduate Supervisor Award from Hebei Normal University in 2015, and the Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Quality Award from Hebei Normal University in 2017.
