Over 30 year study and research have been in marine science and technology, particularly in marine environment and resources management, sustainable use of marine resources. Several main scientific instruments have been developed by my group for marine management, including environmental performance indicators and indices, economic valuation indices, environmental and ecological assessment using DPSIR framework, environmental conflict analysis, application of remote sensing data and GIS technology for environmental and ecological assessment. Apart from my development of those instruments, marine environmental and ecological characterization and processes also fall in my research interests. Acting as associate editor in-chief of the international journal “ Environment, Development and Sustainability”, as members of the international journal “Sustainable Marine Structures” and Vietnam Journal of Marine Science and Technology are my assignments.
