Jan Kotlarz is working on his doctoral dissertation in Economics and Finance from Nicolaus Copernicus University. His dissertation explores "The Impact of Climate Change on the Economic Performance of the Forest Sector in Poland." With a Master's in Management from Poznań University of Banking, Jan's thesis focused on "Forest Management in the Context of High Variability of External Factors." His Bachelor's in Astronomy from the University of Warsaw complements his interdisciplinary approach. As a Remote Sensing Specialist at the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Aviation, Jan leads projects such as HESOFF (monitoring oak forests) and contributes to FITOEXPORT (apple tree monitoring) and "Polish Robot for Precise Agriculture." He actively engages in grant proposals, data analytics, and machine learning. In an academic exchange at Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Jan researched microbiological components in outer solar system missions and exoplanets with forest-type surfaces.
Authoring 50+ publications and presenting at 30+ conferences, Jan's research spans forestry economics, remote sensing, welfare economics, economic simulations, and climate change's economic impact.
