Farhad Assadian is a Professor in system
dynamics and control in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
at the University of California Davis. Currently, he is affiliated with the
Hyundai Center of Excellence in Vehicle Dynamics and Controls where he is
pursuing his research in vehicle dynamics and active chassis development. He is
a registered Professional Engineer in the State of California and a Fellow of
IMECHE. His expertise includes vehicle dynamics, active chassis development,
alternative powertrain, energy optimization and estimation, and advanced
control system design. He has over 30 years of industry experience, of which 17
years are in the automotive domain at companies such as Peugeot-Citroen, Ford,
and Jaguar Land-Rover. He has received several prestigious awards for his
innovative work including the 2008 Ford Technical Achievement Award.
