Krisztina Lászlód, professor, Head of the Research Group of Surface Chemistry, works in the Department of Physical Chemistry and Materials Science at Budapest University of Technology and Economics in Budapest, Hungary. She obtained a Ph.D. in chemistry from BME/MTA in 1995, received a DSc from HAS in 2006, and earned a Habilitation from BME in 2007. Her research interests mainly focus on the synthesis, modification, and characterization of porous systems (activated carbon, spherical carbon, carbon and inorganic monoliths); drug storage and transport-related interactions in responsive hydrogels; interactions at solid/liquid interfaces; novel-type sorbents (including soft matter and hybrid materials) for electrocatalysis, environmental, and biological applications (e.g., adsorption/release of contaminants, drugs); and the role and potential of carbon nanoparticles in the environment and for biological applications. Her scientific output includes 209 publications in various journals with an h-index of 39 (Scopus, April 2024). Her fellowships and awards include the Gold Award for Outstanding Innovator (1985), Széchenyi István Fellowship (2001), Erdey László Award (2004), and Fodor Lajos Award (2014).
