In this paper, information entropy and ensemble learning based signal recognition theory and algorithms have been proposed. We have extracted 16 kinds of entropy features out of 9 types of modulated signals. The types of information entropy used are numerous, including Rényi entropy and energy entropy based on S Transform and Generalized S Transform. We have used three feature selection algorithms, including sequence forward selection (SFS), sequence forward floating selection (SFFS) and RELIEF-F to select the optimal feature subset from 16 entropy features. We use five classifiers, including k-nearest neighbor (KNN), support vector machine (SVM), Adaboost, Gradient Boosting Decision Tree (GBDT) and eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) to classify the original feature set and the feature subsets selected by different feature selection algorithms. The simulation results show that the feature subsets selected by SFS and SFFS algorithms are the best, with a 48% increase in recognition rate over the original feature set when using KNN classifier and a 34% increase when using SVM classifier. For the other three classifiers, the original feature set can achieve the best recognition performance. The XGBoost classifier has the best recognition performance, the overall recognition rate is 97.74% and the recognition rate can reach 82% when the signal to noise ratio (SNR) is −10 dB.
The relay is harvesting energy for data transmission and eavesdropping attacks will occur. Considering carried energy and security of relay, this letter studies relay selection in energy harvesting multi-hop D2D networks with an eavesdropper. To improve the secure connectivity performance of the relay, the higher bound of source-to-destination secrecy connectivity probability (SCP) is derived. Then, we derive the factor directly related to the largest SCP. Then, a relay selection algorithm is proposed to find a higher security connectivity relay path. Our theoretical derivation and the proposed algorithm are verified by Monte Carlo simulation results. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm exhibit significantly higher SCP than the direct transmission method and conventional relay selection algorithms.
In the battlefield, we often don’t know the parameters about enemy wireless communication system. Therefore, we need to use electronic reconnaissance equipment to search, intercept, identify and analyze enemy wireless communication signal. However, the exciting electronic reconnaissance methods can only detect signal layer parameters such as signal carrier frequency and bandwidth, and cannot obtain more information. In order to improve the reconnaissance ability, we propose a novel communication protocol classification algorithm based on long short-term memory (LSTM) and deep belief network (DBN). We first introduce the DBN, then simulates communication protocol classification method based on DBN. In order to improve the performance, we optimize the method. We uses the LSTM to pre-process the data to extract the feature firstly. Then we make the feature as the input of DBN to classify the communication protocol. Finally we make simulation to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has very good performance to classify the communication protocol.

A flexible mathematical framework for adaptive wireless communication waveform design is of importance for the implement of the cognitive radio-based software defined radio (CR-based SDR). As one of the popular models, the "spectrally modulated spectrally encoded" (SMSE) was proposed to tackle this problem but it cannot be trivially applied to the (massive) multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems. In this paper, we extend the useful SMSE model into MIMO systems. Inspired by the tensor technique in signal processing and machine learning, we reformulate the desired waveforms as a higher-order tensors, of which the modes correspond to various modulation parameters such as coding chips, frequency and antennas. Beside the waveform design model, we further propose a new semi-blind receiver for the new model. Due the uniqueness of the applied tensor decomposition, we proved that the proposed receiver can jointly estimate the user symbols and channel state information without the aid of pilot sequences. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model in various communication scenes and outperforms the baseline systems. approximately 3 dB compared with the ideal receiver.

Due to the open nature of WIFI connection, it is exposing its private information to the attackers. Traditional WIFI security methods are no longer able to meet the current security needs, and more and more wireless-side physical layer security solutions provide solutions, among which RF fingerprinting is an endogenous security technology with potential. Constructing an effective and accurate method to identify WIFI devices that steal information is a difficulty that today’s society needs to face. The main problem is not only that the recognition accuracy is difficult to improve but also the problem of data shortage. In this paper, we first construct a large-scale WIFI real-world measurement dataset. Next, we use PSD and bispectrum features, as well as complex ResNet schemes for WIFI device identification experiments, and compare and analyze them from multiple perspectives. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve up to 97% recognition accuracy among 100 devices. Moreover, when the SNR is 0 dB, the complex ResNet method can still achieve 78% recognition accuracy among 100 devices. Finally, this paper summarizes the experimental analysis of the measured dataset and discusses the open issues related to this area.
In the wake of the development and advancement of signal processing technology for communication radiation source individual, Signal fingerprint feature extraction and analysis technology for communication radiation source individual has broad application prospects in many fields. To effectively extract the individual characteristics of different modulated signals under low SNR environment, and recognize the subtle features for communication radiation source individuals has been a hot spot. Aiming at the problem of signal feature extraction and classifier design under low SNR environment, in the paper, a multifractal dimension and improved gray relation theory based classifier design algorithm is proposed. Firstly, the multifractal dimension feature extraction of nine modulated communication signals is realized. Then multifractal dimension features of these modulated signals under different SNR are compared. An improved gray relation algorithm is used to recognize the extracted subtle characteristics. Meanwhile, FSK signal is used to simulate radio subtle features by adding different distribution of noise. Subtle feature extraction by means of multifractal dimension algorithm and pattern recognition by means of improved gray relation algorithm are used to test the effectiveness of the proposed method for identification of modulated signals and radio subtle features. The simulation results show that the recognition success rate of nine different communication modulated signals can reach 93% even under the SNR of 2 dB, and the recognition success rate of the subtle features of distributed noise can reach 100%. The proposed method provides an effective theoretical basis for identifying of radio modulated signals and communication radiation source individual subtle features.
