Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals play a vital role in diagnosing and monitoring patients suffering from various cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). This research aims to develop a robust algorithm that can accurately classify the electrocardiogram signal even in the presence of environmental noise. A one-dimensional convolutional neural network (CNN) with two convolutional layers, two down-sampling layers, and a fully connected layer is proposed in this work. The same 1D data was transformed into two-dimensional (2D) images to improve the model’s classification accuracy. Then, we applied the 2D CNN model consisting of input and output layers, three 2D-convolutional layers, three down-sampling layers, and a fully connected layer. The classification accuracy of 97.38% and 99.02% is achieved with the proposed 1D and 2D model when tested on the publicly available Massachusetts Institute of Technology-Beth Israel Hospital (MIT-BIH) arrhythmia database. Both proposed 1D and 2D CNN models outperformed the corresponding state-of-the-art classification algorithms for the same data, which validates the proposed models’ effectiveness.

According to the most recent estimates from global cancer statistics for 2020, liver cancer is the ninth most common cancer in women. Segmenting the liver is difficult, and segmenting the tumor from the liver adds some difficulty. After a sample of liver tissue is taken, imaging tests, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computer tomography (CT), and ultrasound (US), are used to segment the liver and liver tumor. Due to overlapping intensity and variability in the position and shape of soft tissues, segmentation of the liver and tumor from computed abdominal tomography images based on shade gray or shapes is undesirable. This study proposed a more efficient method for segmenting liver and tumors from CT image volumes using a hybrid ResUNet model, combining the ResNet and UNet models to address this gap. The two overlapping models were primarily used in this study to segment the liver and for region of interest (ROI) assessment. Segmentation of the liver is done to examine the liver with an abdominal CT image volume. The proposed model is based on CT volume slices of patients with liver tumors and evaluated on the public 3D dataset IRCADB01. Based on the experimental analysis, the true value accuracy for liver segmentation was found to be approximately 99.55%, 97.85%, and 98.16%. The authentication rate of the dice coefficient also increased, indicating that the experiment went well and that the model is ready to use for the detection of liver tumors.

Cloud computing is an innovative technique that offers shared resources for stock cache and server management. Cloud computing saves time and monitoring costs for any organization and turns technological solutions for large-scale systems into server-to-service frameworks. However, just like any other technology, cloud computing opens up many forms of security threats and problems. In this work, we focus on discussing different cloud models and cloud services, respectively. Next, we discuss the security trends in the cloud models. Taking these security trends into account, we move to security problems, including data breaches, data confidentiality, data access controllability, authentication, inadequate diligence, phishing, key exposure, auditing, privacy preservability, and cloud-assisted IoT applications. We then propose security attacks and countermeasures specifically for the different cloud models based on the security trends and problems. In the end, we pinpoint some of the futuristic directions and implications relevant to the security of cloud models. The future directions will help researchers in academia and industry work toward cloud computing security.

The Internet of vehicles (IoV) is increasingly being used to realize the vision of intelligent transportation systems with the rapid development of computation and communication technologies. However, numerous IoV applications rely on a central unit for storing and processing information and mediators for wireless transmission. This can lead to the leakage of sensitive data and high costs and delays. To address these issues and improve the efficiency of data storage, processing, and sharing in the IoV, we propose a vehicle-based secure blockchain consensus (VBSBC) algorithm. Our VBSBC algorithm overcomes the limitations and drawbacks of state-of-the-art approaches by leveraging blockchain technology and a consensus algorithm to ensure secure communication between vehicles. In addition, the algorithm includes an authentication process and a key distributing and request process, illustrated during vehicles' movement between different zones. In simulation results, our proposed VBSBC algorithm demonstrated high performance compared to existing approaches in terms of authentication delay, key processing time, attack detection rate, throughput, and packet loss rate.

Glaucoma is one of the prevalent causes of blindness in the modern world. It is a salient chronic eye disease that leads to irreversible vision loss. The impediments of glaucoma can be restricted if it is identified at primary stages. In this paper, a novel two-phase Optic Disk localization and Glaucoma Diagnosis Network (ODGNet) has been proposed. In the first phase, a visual saliency map incorporated with shallow CNN is used for effective OD localization from the fundus images. In the second phase, the transfer learning-based pre-trained models are used for glaucoma diagnosis. The transfer learning-based models such as AlexNet, ResNet, and VGGNet incorporated with saliency maps are evaluated on five public retinal datasets (ORIGA, HRF, DRIONS-DB, DR-HAGIS, and RIM-ONE) to differentiate between normal and glaucomatous images. This study’s experimental results demonstrate that the proposed ODGNet evaluated on ORIGA for glaucoma diagnosis is the most predictive model and achieve 95.75, 94.90, 94.75, and 97.85% of accuracy, specificity, sensitivity, and area under the curve, respectively. These results indicate that the proposed OD localization method based on the saliency map and shallow CNN is robust, accurate and saves the computational cost.
