Ozgur Poyraz managed both industrial responsibilities and academic participation concurrently while working on his M.Sc and PhD. He has focused on advanced manufacturing technologies including additive manufacturing and multi-axis machining, along with their complementary steps like design for manufacturing and simulations. He worked for organizations such as TEI (General Electric Aviation Joint Venture), Technicut UK, Eskisehir Technical University, and the University of Sheffield AMRC NW. For his PhD dissertation, he concentrated on examining how process parameters influence laser additive manufacturing using modeling and simulation methods. He has co-edited a book, written book chapters, research papers, reviews, and conference proceedings. He regularly serves as a reviewer for several journals that are indexed in reputable domains like Web of Science. His main research fields include additive manufacturing, milling, CAD/CAM/CAE, process modeling, and DfX.
