Prof. Dr. Haiyong Xia holds a bachelor’s degree in agronomy, a master’s degree in agronomy from crop cultivation and tillage from Qingdao Agricultural University, and a doctorate in ecology from China Agricultural University. He has studied and exchanged at Rothamsted Research in the UK. Since July 2013, he has been engaged in research on crop tillage and ecology and grain nutrition and quality safety at the Crop Research Institute of Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences. He has made a one year's academic visit to Wageningen University, the Netherlands, and short-term academic visits to the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, the University of California, Davis, and the University of Reading, UK. He is currently a master’s supervisor at Shandong Normal University, Qingdao Agricultural University and Ludong University. He has undertaken nearly 15 scientific research projects. He won the Shennong Chinese Agricultural Science and Technology Third Prize, the Shandong Science and Technology Progress Second Prize, and the Linyi Science and Technology Progress Second Prize. He has published 14 SCI articles as the first or corresponding author, 22 Chinese articles as the first or corresponding author, and edited 1 book. He has been granted five invention patents, seven utility model patents, and eight computer software copyrights. He participated in the formulation of four Shandong provincial local standards.
