Yinsheng Qiu is a professor and dean of the School of Animal Science and Nutrition Engineering at Wuhan University of Light Industry. His research interests include the development of antibiotic substitutes, the detection and control of harmful substances in feed, and the impact of antibiotics in animal excreta on the environment. He received his doctorate in agricultural product processing and storage engineering from Huazhong Agricultural University in 2003. He joined the Pharmacology and Toxicology Experimental Center of the Hubei Institute of Pharmaceutical Industry in October 1988, and served as the director of the Pharmacology and Toxicology Experimental Center and the director of the Hubei Provincial Drug Safety Evaluation Center. In 2006, he was transferred to Wuhan University of Light Industry to teach. He organized and completed the key project of the Hubei Provincial Department of Science and Technology “Construction of Hubei Provincial Drug Safety Evaluation Center” and passed the GLP certification inspection of the State Food and Drug Administration. He presided over the research work on the national Class II veterinary drug sarafloxacin hydrochloride API and preparations and obtained four national new veterinary drug certificates. He cooperated with enterprises to obtain the national new veterinary drug certificates for “Marbofloxacin API and Tablets” and “Amoxicillin Colistin Sulfate Soluble Powder”. He has won six Hubei Science and Technology Progress Awards.
