Dr. Alberto Gallardo is a Scientific Researcher at the ICTP-CSIC. He co-leads a team of about 10 researchers, is an expert in preparative methods for polymeric materials and their precursors, and aims to offer technological and/or biomedical solutions to specific issues facing society, such as the structuring of surfaces, methods of catalysis in water, effective vectors in gene therapy, competitive supports in cellular manipulation, and the preparation of polymer–drug conjugates or hydrogels. He became a member of the entrepreneurial team that founded EBT Releasycell in 2018 as well as the iFABCell technology. He was the PI for a 2022 proof-of-concept project and a 2021 TED project. He is currently the Academic Director of the Máster en Alta Especialización en Plásticos y Caucho, which is taught in an academic alliance with UIMP and CSIC.
