This systematic review investigates recent empirical research on mathematical literacy, focusing on real-life problem-solving, instructional methods, influencing factors, and assessment practices. Drawing from 37 peer-reviewed studies published between 2015 and 2024, the review synthesizes findings related to frequently studied constructs, targeted mathematical domains, educational levels, and the effectiveness of various pedagogical interventions. The results indicate that mathematical literacy, achievement, and problem-solving are the most commonly examined outcomes, with algebra and geometry being the most frequently addressed content areas. Instructional approaches such as realistic mathematics education, problem-based learning, and STEM-integrated models consistently show positive impacts on students’ mathematical literacy. However, students continue to struggle with context-based problem formulation and interpretation. Cognitive factors such as executive function and self-efficacy, along with contextual variables like socio-economic status and language proficiency, significantly influence student outcomes. The review also highlights gaps in assessment practices and the need for improved teacher training. Implications for policy, practice, and future research are discussed to support the development of mathematical literacy as a key 21st century competency.

Learning the basics of financial computation to improve financial literacy of students in school mathematics is not enough to deepen modern economic knowledge and its correct application in life practice, which requires a more comprehensive view of the process of teaching mathematics. The purpose of the research - to prepare a teaching guide during the process of studying mathematics in high school on the formation of financial literacy skills. Research methods - expertise and pedagogical experiment, theoretical, methodical and mathematical analysis of educational and methodical complexes and manuals, textbooks used in schools of the country, scientific and theoretical problems, philosophical, psychological and pedagogical, methodical and mathematical literature aimed at teaching the basics of financial literacy in mathematics classes. Results - methods of teaching the basics of financial statements in mathematics lessons in high school will increase not only students' knowledge of mathematics, but also the level of knowledge about financial calculations and their interest in learning and their ability to read, the quality of knowledge acquisition and their ability to increase their financial literacy. The results of the study can be used to train future mathematics teachers in secondary schools and higher education institutions, to improve the teaching content and methodology of mathematics, and to improve the professional development of teachers.

The article is devoted to the problem of modernization of the school education system in Kazakhstan, in which one of the main sections is the development and implementation of state compulsory standards of general secondary education in all educational organizations, taking into account the various types of educational organizations, and the systematic revision of the education content. All transformations in the country were carried out through the adoption of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Education” and state programs of the education system development. At present, State Compulsory Educational Standard -2012 is in effect in the republic, the essence of which is creation of the basis for updating the education content, transition to the 12-year education and the education digitalization. At the same time, the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan takes part in international studies jointly with the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), as well as TIMSS, PISA, PIAAC, TALIS.

Objective: The main goals of school mathematical education are the development of intellectual students, the formation of thought qualities characteristic of mathematical activities and the acquisition of specific mathematical knowledge, the skills and skills necessary for practical application, and the formation of research skills. Theoretical Framework: The problem and purpose of the study is to identify the possibilities of problem-searching tasks in mathematics as a way for school students to develop research skills in updated content situations. Method: A method has been developed to build selected skills based on the corresponding system. It has been established that collective or group forms are most effective in creating problem situations in the classroom. Group or individual forms are most effective for testing a hypothesis and finding a solution to a problematic task. Result and Conclusion: The article also highlights the main blocks of research skills of schoolchildren and problem-search tasks in algebra and geometry developed for these blocks and methods for the formation of these skills. The basic principles for constructing a system of tasks focused on the formation of each block and each skill that we have chosen are determined. Research Implications: Implementation of these goals necessitates updating the system of school mathematical education, which is designed to ensure a harmonious combination of the interests of the individual and society. Originality/value: It contributed to the activation of students’ activities and their positive motivation for learning activities carried out in the classroom and at home.
This article formulates the foundations of modern mathematical education that meet the new goals and objectives of mathematical education dictated by changes in mathematics itself over the last century, by changes in its role in the modern digital world, and by changes in the world. The basic system of concepts is described, starting from which the whole modern mathematics of the finite, as well as primary mathematical education, is built. For all levels of mathematical education and for all learners, the ability to solve problems whose solutions are not known (to the student) and to do it independently with the help and support of a motivating teacher is a fundamental skill. A significant role is played by a computer mathematical experiment and the transfer of tasks with solutions having been found by the student to the computer. This article also describes the actual state of affairs in the Russian mass education system and proposes the necessary actions to implement the formulated principles of modern mathematical education in Russia. Most of the articles presented in this issue demonstrate and detail the implementation of the formulated principles.

The article deals with the problem of developing a theory of modernization of digital education, which forms a plurality of identities and the intelligence of students. The authors proceed from the fact that the functioning of modern societies in various states is complicated by the rapidly growing diversity in the world and the corresponding change in communication technologies and industrial relations, in connection with which the relevance of managing the socio-cultural life of people and society as a whole has increased. Therefore, identification research is of great importance today. The modern multiplicity of identification properties of people is associated with the existence of two opposite process-es in the information society: assimilation and multiculturalism. The authors of the article believe that in the system of modernization education of young people it is necessary to introduce such categories as "multiple identity" (multiple identity) and the plural-ity of skills, abilities and abilities (multiple intelligences), in view of the fact that students create themselves, describe, including their skills, potential and preferences. The authors came to the conclusion that educational organizations should independently develop their own policy of social and educational assimilation of students to the universal process of education, where there are "examples" of norms and values that allow students to identify themselves as "worthy" of certain expectations on the part of teachers, teachers and educational administration. institutions. This policy should also include methods of their social integration through informational impact and interaction of teachers with students, allowing them to maintain certain rules of interactive communication. The theory of modernization learning includes both communication theory and learning theory. The versatility of modern distance education is the construction of web communities, where dialectical and democratic pedagogy is recreated, combining various models and styles of learning (the concepts of behaviorism, cognitivism and constructivism are known in the education system).
