Andreu Cabot is an ICREA Research Professor at the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC), Spain. He received his PhD from the University of Barcelona in 2003. From 2004 to 2007, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. A. Paul Alivisatos's group at the University of California, in Berkeley, and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His main research interests include the design and engineering of nanoparticles and nanomaterials, the characterization of their functional properties, their use for manufacturing scaffolds and electrodes using 3D printing technologies, and their application in energy conversion and storage. He has published nearly 300 scientific articles and co-authored five patents.
