Eliana B. Souto is a Full Professor of Pharmaceutical Engineering, at UCD School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering, University College Dublin. Professor Souto graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Coimbra in 2000, held a Master of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Technology from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto in 2002, and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology and Biopharmaceutics from the Institut für Pharmazie der Freie Universitaet Berlin, Germany. The design, development, and characterization of new drug delivery systems are her main research interests. Eliana B. Souto acted as Chief Editor, Associate Editor, and Member of the Editorial Board of several international scientific journals, and is a consultant in pharmaceutical technology and nanotechnology in the field of intellectual property. Professor Souto was ranked by Clarivate as a highly cited researcher in 2022 and 2023.
