Christopher Chase is a professor of veterinary and biomedical science at South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. He received his DVM from Iowa State University and MS and PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has been at SDSU since 1992. Dr. Chase is the Past-President of the American Association of Veterinary Immunologists, South Dakota Veterinary Medical Association (SDVMA), American College of Veterinary Microbiology and the Conference of Research Workers in Animal Disease. He received the 2009 Veterinarian of the Year from the South Dakota Veterinary Medical Association; the 2010 FO Butler Foundation Excellence in Research Faculty Award from South Dakota State University; the 2011 Honors College Outstanding Leadership and Support of Undergraduate Research, South Dakota State University; the 2022 Distinguished Service Award from the South Dakota Veterinary Medical Association; the 2024 Distinguished Immunologist Award from the American Association of Veterinary Immunologists, and 2024 Fellow of the Conference for Research Workers in Animal Disease.
