Marlena Moors Westcott, Ph.D. Associate Professor, Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, NC. Ph.D., 1992; After completing a postdoctoral fellowship studying the molecular pathogenesis of Listeria monocytogenes at the University of Pennsylvania in 1997 (Marlena Moors), I became a postdoctoral fellow in the Dept of Microbiology and Immunology studying the interactions of Listeria with dendritic cells. I have since advanced through positions of Instructor through to Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at Wake Forest. My research interests encompass host responses to pathogenic viruses and bacteria and vaccine development. I am a member of ASM and AAAS and serve on the board of the NC Association for Biomedical Research.
