Laura van Smeden studied biomedical engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology, from which she received her M.Sc. degree in 2019 and PhD in 2023. In her PhD research, she focused on continuous monitoring of health markers employing biosensing by particle motion based immuno assays and microdialysis as sampling method, under supervision of Prof. Menno Prins. In 2023 she joined imec at Holst Centre as a researcher. Her research is dedicated to the development and evaluation of miniaturized sensing solutions for biofluid monitoring.
