Dr. Umedjon Khalilov is a computational materials scientist specializing in atomistic modeling of carbon nanostructure synthesis, silicon surface chemistry and sustainable energy materials. His research also covers plasma-bio surface interactions and organic nanocrystal nucleation. He has extensive experience with reactive molecular dynamics, force-bias Monte Carlo and density functional theory, and has contributed to the study of nanoscale growth, oxidation, etching and surface reaction mechanisms. He is currently Head of the Laboratory at the Arifov Institute of Ion-Plasma and Laser Technologies (Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan) and is affiliated with the MOSAIC research group at the University of Antwerp (Belgium).
