Massimo Rippa graduated in Physics cum Laude in 2004 at the University of Naples “Federico II”. At the same institution in December 2009, he received his Ph.D. in the International course “Novel Technology for Materials, Sensor and Imaging”. He is currently a permanent researcher at Institute of Applied Science and Intelligent Systems “E. Caianiello” of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR). He has been involved in several national and International projects including bilateral cooperation program between the CNR, the Chinese Academy of Science (CAS), and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science (CAAS). He has been principal investigator for CNR of three Short-Term Mobility research programs at Chinese academic institutions. His current research focuses on Photonics for sensing and Infrared Imaging for applications in precision agriculture, in cultural heritage, and for non-destructive testing. He is author/co-author of more than 80 international publications, 4 patents, 1 monography, and he has participated in more than 70 national and international conferences with posters or oral presentations. He earned the National Scientific Qualification in “Experimental Physics of the Matter” in 2018. MR is currently coordinator of the research activities developed in the “Thermography and Infrared imaging Laboratory” of the institute, is scientifically responsible for two research projects in agriculture for ISASI CNR, and has assignments on national and European projects.
