Dr. Niccola Funel graduated in Molecular Biology at the University of Pisa in the academic year 1999. From 2000 to 2008, he specialized in Clinical Pathology and then undertook a PhD in Molecular and Experimental Oncology. After 2008, he has focused on molecular biology, seeking innovative applications in the field of personalized medicine in oncology and dermatology. In 2022, he obtained his second PhD, in translational clinical medicine. From 2021 to 2022/2023, he worked as a biologist and research manager in the COVID-19 field, thereafter going on to work in the field of immunohematology and transfusion medicine. He has held the position of advisor in the Italian Society of Pancreatology (as an expert of molecular biology) and recently held the role of biologist manager in the clinical field in immunohematology, also supporting orthopaedic activity. He is the author and co-author of over 250 scientific contributions, including 100 publications, contributions to conferences, conference abstracts and a chapter in a book. He currently holds the role of reviewer, associate editor and academic editor for several international journals.
