Lijuan Li obtained a master's degree in structural mechanics from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 1990 and a doctorate degree in structural engineering from Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology in 1992. She worked at the Qingdao University of Science and Technology from 1992 to 1998 as a lecturer, associate professor, and professor. From 1998 to now, she worked at the Guangdong University of Technology as director of the Structural Engineering Research Institute, vice president of the School of Construction, and president of the School of Civil and Transportation Engineering. Main research directions include the theory and methods of structural optimization design, green high-performance concrete materials, and new materials and new structures. She is a director of the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, standing director of the Institute of Structural Stability and Fatigue China Steel Construction Society, a member of the China Civil Engineering Society, a member of the New Materials and New Structures Professional Committee of the Architecture Society of China, vice chairman of Civil Engineering and Architecture Society of Guangdong Province, and standing director of the Guangdong Province Society of Steel Construction. She has won one second prize and two third prizes in provincial science and technology awards, one second prize in national teaching achievements, and four first prizes and two second prizes in provincial teaching achievements.
