The present study aims to test the reliability and validity of ÇAĞIN Hand and Foot Reaction Tests. A total of 120 athletes, 60 under the age of 18 and 60 over the age of 18 who were actively playing soccer, participated in the study. ÇAĞIN Hand and Foot Reaction Tests were applied to the athletes participating in the study 3 times with 2-week intervals using FitLight Trainer and BlazePod devices. In order to determine the validity of the data obtained from the athletes by applying ÇAĞIN Hand and Foot Reaction Tests, two measurements made with the FitLight Trainer device at different times were compared, and in order to determine the reliability, measurements made with the FitLight Trainer and BlazePod device on different days were compared and analyzed. Paired Simple T-Test in SPSS 26.0 package program was applied to determine both validity and reliability. According to the findings obtained, the validity and reliability correlation coefficients of all 6 tests in the ÇAĞIN Hand and Foot Reaction Tests were found to be r>0.70 (p<0.05). In the light of these findings, it was determined that the validity and reliability of ÇAĞIN Hand and Foot Reaction Tests were very high (r= 0.70-0.90).
The purpose of this study is to examine the correlation between leg power and balance performance in elite wrestlers and injury history. In the research group, there are 18 elite freestyle male wrestlers at the ages of 24.27 ± 3.18 years, with a height of 171.86 ± 5.44 cm and a body weight of 79.27 ± 11.16 kg. Information on the injury history of the athletes’ upper legs for the past year was collected via interviews with the club’s physiotherapist. Laboratory tests to measure performance assessed height, body weight, Y balance and isokinetic leg strength. Data obtained from the study are presented as mean and standard deviation. The test of normality was carried out by the Shapiro-Wilk test. The Pearson Correlation Test was performed for all parameters with normal distribution, and significance level was accepted as p < 0.05. It was found that there is a relationship between the wrestlers’ right leg ratio and hamstring strength and injury history. However, there is no statistically significant relationship between left leg hamstring, quadriceps, ratio, right leg quadriceps, or right and left leg balance performance, and injury history. The resulting data shows that the proportioning between hamstring and quadriceps muscles in freestyle wrestlers’ upper leg strength values is not ideal. This finding provides evidence that injury risk increases with the additional impact of loss of strength.
This study was conducted to examine and compare the parameters of leaps executed with two different take offs in rhythmic gymnastics. 15 rhythmic gymnasts competing in novice category (age: 7.6±0.7 years old; training age: 2.3±1.2 years; height: 120.4±2.4 cm; weight: 20.45±0.9 kg) participated in the study. The selection of the elements of split leap and stag leap with ring was based on ‘Rules of Procedure on Rhythmic Gymnastics’. The leaps were first executed with take off from one foot and then with take off from two feet. Gyko Inertial System (Microgate, Bolzano, Italy) and Optojump (Microgate, Bolzano, Italy) measurement tool were used to assess t flight, height, mean distance, velocity and total power of the leaps. SPSS 23 package program was used for the statistical analysis of data. Shapiro-Wilk test was performed to find out whether the data showed normal distribution while Mann-Whitney U test was performed to compare the groups. Statistical level of significance was accepted as p<0.05. The analysis indicated that t flight, height, velocity and total power results for the split leap performed with take off from 1 foot were significantly higher than the split leap performed with take off from 2 feet (p<0.05). As for stag leap with ring, a significant difference was observed in time of flight (t-flight) and velocity values of the leap executed with the two different take offs (p<0.05). At the end of the study, it was found that while performing split leap and stag leap with ring elements, gymnasts displayed a better performance with take off from single foot compared to take off from both feet. In light of these results, it is suggested to encourage rhythmic gymnasts in novice category perform technical training with take off from 1 foot during groundwork training.

The aims of this study is to examine the effects of caffeine intake in sprinters on reaction time, speed, acceleration and balance. A total of 31 sprinters (18 female, 13 male) from the athletics team of university faculty of sports sciences participated in the study. Sprinters were divided into two groups, caffeine and placebo, and their balance, reaction time, 30-meter running time and 15-meter acceleration performances were measured. The Wilcoxon t-Test and the Mann-Whitney U test were applied to the data obtained on the SPSS 23.0 package program. As a result of the study, the number of errors in the balance test decreased significantly in both the experimental group and the control group while a significant decrease was observed in block takeoff reaction time only in the experimental group. In conclusion, it was determined that while caffeine intake did not have a significant effect on acceleration and running times, block take off reaction time created a significant difference in the experimental group and could provide an advantage to the sprinters. Therefore, it can be said that caffeinated gum may be a good ergogenic aid to improve reaction performance in sprinters.
