Dr. Yoon Jung Park is a Professor at the Department of Nutritional Science and Food Management and the Graduate Program in System Health Science and Engineering at Ewha Womans University, where she is head of the NutriEpigenomics lab. She received her Ph.D. from the Division of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University, followed by postdoctoral training at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg, with the support of the Roman Herzog Research Fellowship. Her research is focused on the mechanisms by which environmental factors such as diets epigenetically influence cells, tissues, or organisms and by which the epigenetic changes are transmitted to subsequent generations using multi-omics data, including genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, metabolomics, and microbiome analysis. In particular, she is currently focusing on the linkage between epigenetic regulation and the circadian clock, and its modulation by protein and energy intake. She has published in high-ranking journals, including Nature Medicine, EMBO Molecular Medicine, PLoS Genetics, and Molecular Cell. Her current projects are the following: (1) Epigenetic mechanisms underlying inheritance of metabolic imprinting, (2) Effects of macronutrients on circadian clock regulation, and (3) Omics analysis on metabolic disease and cancer to identify biomarkers.
